Main menu item, nibs and file owner

Just a question about buttons and menus in nib files.

I have several nibs in my app. In one of them I have a button that triggers a method in the corresponding file owner.
In the main menu, I have an item and I would like it to trigger the same action. Obviously in IB, the menu item has no access to the file owner from the other nib, and thus no access to the desired method.

What would be the best way to do so ? I see some workarounds but they don't seem so nice. Maybe I miss something simple ....
