NSSegmentedControl Highlights

Does anybody know how to get the selected segmented cell to stay blue when it's window loses focus? I have done a little experimenting and discovered my issue only exists on textured/unified windows.

I really want this to work, so I am willing to subclass if necessary, but I am not sure what method I can over-ride to prevent the blue from turning off as the window loses focus. Any help greatly appreciated...
