Geez - give the guy a break. It was obviously "thinking out loud,"
and maybe it wasn't completely appropriate for this mailing list, but
the fact is he immediately saw the logic of the counter-argument and
hasn't done anything harmful.
Try to have a little empathy. He felt violated, and went through a
period of rash thinking. It's really not helping anything for people
to try heaping additional shame onto him, when he's already agreed it
was a flawed idea.
