To conclude about this problem, I have found that when I create a new document in photoshop, it is automatically created with sRGB IEC61966-2.1 color profile...which doesn't match the color profile of my system (Cinema Display RGB). This setting is hidden, that's why it took me so long to notice.

So I changed the setting (clicking on Advanced in the New panel) to Cinema Display...and everything is perfect : PNG keeps the original colors and I can now use this format in my app.

Thanks for your help and hints,

Eric.

Use TIFF instead

Yes, I'll stick with TIFF until Photoshop is fixed.

Thanks,
