i guess i'll have to do that. i was hoping to avoid this as this
requires writing the toolbar state to the doc even if it hasn't
changed. i suppose i could compare the current configuration to that
saved in the doc, but i'm not sure if this comparison is worth it
versus just always writing...

configurationDictionary]" when you save the document (ie. ignore any
intermediary configurations before you save)?
