Sample code for WWDCs, at least the past 3 years, has only been
available to those who attended or Select/Premier members after the
event, and usually for a limited time. Apple removed the sample code
for prior WWDCs well before 2005's IIRC.
The key is: if you have access, download and archive so you don't
lose your resource!
This was discussed recently and there's an open-source app that
employs this technique, so you could look there (I believe it was
called Tryst, at
http://www.trystx.com/)

There is a sample app called RaisedEditor that demonstrates exactly
how to do this. It is in the WWDC 2003 sample code which i think you
can download from developer.apple.com.
I'm an ADC Select member but I can't find the RaisedEditor example
anywhere on connect.apple.com. (only 2005 WWDC stuff is there) .. I
remember it being there a few years ago, but it doesn't seem to be
there now. (of course, without a search feature, it's a bit hard to
be sure.)
It's definitely not on developer.apple.com yet. This is ridiculous
for such an old piece of sample code. Apple needs to make sample code
more available. This example is particularly frustrating, as people
ask about it often.
