Unfortunately, this is a lot harder than it should be. There are
things like eSellerate and Kagi, but they don't do everything for you.
What would the going rate be for a programmer who would be up to
this task?
In my opinion, there's not one true rate -- there are a lot of
variables. You might also consider offering to split the proceeds,
perhaps by raising the price to $7 or something.
Also, I was wondering if it would be worth it to design the
interface using Interface Builder, if nothing else as a visual aide
to show what I would like the final product to look like and what
options it should have.
I think this would be a very good idea.
What is the industry standard way to diagram a program (i.e., which
window a certain button should open).
There's UML but I'm not sure that's really what you want. A series of
diagrams done in OmniGraffle or something should be fine.
