Not necessarily - you could simply make a copy of a template document, maybe doing some simple text substitutions, like Xcode does. You could give your users a lot of flexibility that way too, by allowing them to store any document they create in the template folder.

Ahh, I didn't think about copying. I could just embed a template in the application package and copy at will. That's a good idea. Thanks
