As far as I'm aware, this is a bug (or standard behavior) in Cocoa, and
there's nothing you can do about it. If you look at other apps you'll see
that they behave the same way. For example, my most well-known app,
MemoryStick, behaves this way (look at the File and Edit menus). I don't
like it, but no user has ever complained. m.
