Microsoft Word has something like this. Select some text you want to
copy-and-paste. Type Shift-F2 (the shortcut here is user-customizable).
Select where you want to paste. Type Return. There is also an analogous way
to cut: Select some text you want to cut-and-paste. Type Shift-Option-F2 (I
think this is my own customization of the shortcut; I don't know what the
default is). Select where you want to paste. Type Return. I regard these as
very useful. m.
