You'll have to build it yourself. Don't know if Apple's source is
still up, and it may be some work getting it to compile on Tiger.
Apple only supports gcc 4 and gcc 3.3 on Tiger. They dropped support
for gcc2 and gcc 3.1. As Bob said you must have gcc2 left over from
an old dev tools install.
I'd say the easiest thing would be to continue having a Panther/XCode
1.5 setup around to build this code if it's that fragile. Maintaining
your own gcc across system upgrades would be a pain.
