I can't speak for whether or not this is a Cocoa topic or if it's
best suited for another list. I'll give my opinion of your goal
either way:
Quite simply put, overriding this is a bad idea. It's running at
whatever speed for a very good reason. If it's always on or you feel
it's running excessively, contact Apple; there may be a problem.
Overriding it and shutting down / slowing the fan forcibly could
*potentially* result in damage (overheating). DON'T DO THIS.

Hi everybody,
my eMac is giving me headaches by mean of its loud fan.
Just tooo noisy.
It seems to me the best solution (and the less risky one) is: knowing
the hardware address of the fan, could I be able to reduce its
speed by
giving a particular value to this address?
Could it be possible? How can I know hardware addresses of a Mac?
Thanks everybody.
