User-defined global hotkeys

  • Subject: User-defined global hotkeys

Hi all!

I have designed this service, and a preference pane for it, to appear in the system preferences. One of the settings I would like the user to have control over, is the keyboard shortcuts for the said service. So, a few questions:

1) when were the user-definable keyboard shortcuts appear, in the "Keyboards and Mouse" preference pane? (what version of OS X?)

2) can I, somehow, use these to automatically "register" my service's shortcuts? If so, how would I go about that?

3) if I have to re-create a GUI to save the keyboard shortcuts in _my_ preference pane, am I to understand that the only key-modifiers allowed are command-shift?

Thanks!
