Something like [[[NSBundle mainBundle] bundlePath] stringByDeletingLastPathComponent]. However, please do not misuse this. In general we discourage placing resources, saved files, etc. in positions relative to the application's location. In particular, you should not assume that you can write anywhere near there--the user may not have permissions to write there, or the application may be on a file server or a read-only disk.
