I would expect that users with iBooks/PowerBooks are probably already accustomed to their machines slowing down when on battery power. And if you need to type 100wpm on an older Mac to see things get slow, my inclination would be to say nothing—or at the most, include a small tip in the readme to disable reduced-CPU mode if users experience slowdowns while in battery power.
