The bad news that is that what a vast majority of customers *need* considerably differs from what they *want*.

It's easy just to give'em what they want -- more or less, it's what Windoze do (and in some level it is what Mac OS X does, unlike its predecessor NeXTStep did). The more you do that, the more money you earn, which is definitely good. Alas, at the same time, the more you do that, the more crappy the result is, and that's pretty bad. To find the best compromise is tough, and I am not saying I can do that myself, alas :((
