Heh. Wow.

In addition, I'd suggest asking specifically for it to be a preference rather than to have it removed - sort of a you'll-catch- more-flies-with-honey-than-vinegar sort of thing. You want usability to be enhanced by giving more options.

I happen to rely on the badges and I'm stoked that they finally improved the whole mailbox and folder column in general. But more options would be nice, though. I'd personally rather see it on the right - it's where I had my drawer and I prefer it there. Since everybody has their own preference, I doubt they'd move it to the right all of a sudden, but making it an option is a perfectly reasonable request.

... but this is now very off-topic. ;-)

Um, I'd say that's "behaves as intended". You want an Enhancement, not a bug fix.
The good news is that bugreporter is still where you want to go ;)

Use bugreporter (https://bugreport.apple.com/cgi-bin/WebObjects/ RadarWeb.woa) just like any other bug…

Mail 2 Mysteriously reports the number of unread messages in the left
hand column to the right of the folder. It's annoying me. I want to
report the bug so they can fix it.
