I am creating an app that is hidden most of the time, but does have a couple windows. It needs to be running all the time if it is to be used for its intended purpose (specifically, it opens a window at specified time intervals). A dock icon doesn't seem necessary, so I made a NSStatusItem and hid the dock icon by setting the relevant keys in the info.plist file. It works fine, but when a window is opened, I would like to have a menu bar (for simple things like close, copy, paste, etc.) The keyboard shortcuts set in IB work fine but I haven't seen a way to show the actual menu bar?

Sorry, we don't support that combination in Mac OS X. If you have a menubar, then you also always have a Dock icon.
