NSWindow -performClose: / not updating display

  • Subject: NSWindow -performClose: / not updating display

I have a window which I close programatically. I do the -performClose:, however most of the time it does not remove itself from being displayed until I do a physical action in the application (move the mouse, click etc.) is there a call I can do to force an update which removes the window from being displayed?

I tried [NSApp setWindowsNeedUpdate:YES]; with no effect.
