Why do views get mouse and keyboard input but my controller class

Brian, in the
case of your problem: how have you determined that your controller/
view is not getting mouse and keyboard input?

Tangentially -- why did you call your object a controller? What
function is it serving that is controller-like?

After noticing my own typo while reading follow-ups, it occurs to me that another possibility is that Brian, while typing "controller" was actually talking about a control.

I also failed to mention that I did indeed instantiate a 'true' controller class (A subclass of NSObject) but it only recieves button events, no mouse events or keyboard events.
So that is why I called the Sub-Class of NSView my controller class because it needs to do the most work handling input.
