Code Sample Request: thumbnail images within a container view

Greetings:
I want to have thumbnail images floating within a container view that I can load programmatically and have each image respond to an focus event, similar to iPhoto images.

I've tried using a NSMatrix object, but the images/cells get skewed as the contain is resized.

I suspect these are NSImageViews (subviews) of a container view. Am I correct?
Or are these Cells instead?

Any code examples, literature would be appreciated.

Regards,

Ric.
