I just checked out Smart Crash Reports, and am thoroughly impressed!
I am a huge non-fan of APE (another Unsanity product), so I was
initially a bit skeptical, but it looks great.
All you need to do to add SCR-compatibility to your application is
add 2 key-value pairs to your Info.plist file. You don't have to
install any frameworks, etc. This does mean that your users won't
get the added functionality unless they install Smart Crash Reports
themselves, but on the plus side I don't have to add anyone's hacks
to someone else's system myself. There is also an API for
automatically/silently installing Smart Crash Reporter from within
your application.
Looks like something I'd recommend to any developer!

There's a new (over the course of the past few weeks IIRC) tool
available from Unsanity that doesn't use their APE system but
accomplishes this goal... it's called "Smart Crash Reports" and is
available at http://www.unsanity.com/smartcrashreports/
If you prefer to do it your own way, look at the Adium open-source
project which has its own custom crash reporter and intercepts
crashes.

If something nasty happens during my running program, I will
get that "Crashed" dialog with the "Close" and "Report"
buttons. The Report button reports the thread stack traces to
Apple. How can that be changed to report them to me instead?
