Convert Windows file path to Mac File path

Does anyone know of any way to convert Windows file
paths into OS X paths? When I unzip a Windows archive,
the folders are seperated by backslashes. Each file's
parent folder is treated as part of the files name.

ParentFolder\SubFolder\theFile.xml

At present, I'm just getting each filename and
seperating the components by the backslashes, then
manualy constructing the folder heirarchy. Just
wondering if there was an easier way to do this.

Thanks.

Ian
