How about "-[NSSplitView dividerThickness]", that:

"Returns the thickness of the divider. You can subclass NSSplitView and override this method to change the divider’s size, if necessary."

And if you're going to check that out, you might as well read about "-[NSSplitView drawDividerInRect:]".
