NSTextView - setSelectedRange hides caret?

Hi,

whenever I use setSelectedRange with only a position and no length, it hides the caret. Sometimes it will still be visible but it won't be blinking. I can bring it back by clicking in the text view. Is there another way to move the current position and keep the caret visible and bliking?
