Bob,

In Xcode->Preferences check your 'Building' settings. I have the Build Results Window settings to Open during builds: On Errors and Close after builds: Never. This way you can see all of the problems at once automatically and can quickly jump to the problem areas in your code. I also set the build results window to show the build transcript (i.e. what actually happened from a command-line standpoint) I find these settings convenient and hope this helps.

Please forgive the ignorance of this question, but:

When compiling a cocoa project in Xcode, I click on the hammer and the build fails. Over on the left, there is a Red errors and Warnings selection that I must click on to see the files with errors, then I must click on the first file in order to see the error.

Do I have to do this every time? How do you set it so that the first error just shows up? At least how do I keep the triangle open so that I don't have to open that every time? What does everyone else do when they are debugging?

Thanks
Bob
