Trouble with double clicking my documents

  • Subject: Trouble with double clicking my documents

In the program I'm working on right now I have this odd problem. When you double click the file on it acts like it is going to open the application but it never does. I right clicked it and it shows that a version of the application no longer on the computer is the default application. How do I cause the Finder to pickup that a different application should be the default for opening the file? Can this be done programatically?

Mark.
