Let me retype this question a little more clearly.
Ok. The application I am working on creates files. If you double click one of these files it should launch the application and open the file. This does not happen. You double click the file and it acts like it's going to start the application but the app never even tries to launch.
Anyway. I right clicked one of these docs and it shows the default application as being a version of the program that it no longer on the computer. What I am wondering is how I would cause the finder to reset the default application for any given file.
