Let me retype this question a little more clearly.
Ok. The application I am working on creates files. If you double
click one of these files it should launch the application and open
the file. This does not happen. You double click the file and it acts
like it's going to start the application but the app never even tries
to launch.
Anyway. I right clicked one of these docs and it shows the default
application as being a version of the program that it no longer on
the computer. What I am wondering is how I would cause the finder to
reset the default application for any given file.
Mark.

the application but it never does. I right clicked it and it shows

default application. How do I cause the Finder to pickup that a
different application should be the default for opening the file?
Can this be done programatically?
Mark.
