Please log enhancement requests to Apple to get them to open some of
their Mail APIs.
<http://developer.apple.com/bugreporter/>
After 5 years (with Mac OS X), it's time they offered at least some
basic plug-in support! I have avoided writing Mail plug-ins because
of the private APIs, but my customers hound me why I don't have
better support for Mail. The result, I'm stuck between a rock and a
hard place.

Ironically, Cocoa makes it pretty easy to add plug-in support to an
application (and even offer additional APIs over time). Sadly the
Cocoa development seems more focused on creating new toolbars instead.

If enough developers log bugs against the issue, it will hopefully
get someone's attention that the development community needs to be
able to extend Mail (since email is the primary means of
communication these days).

There are a lot but no where i can not get clue about how to write
them.
Every Plug in have different features. I could not understand how
they are
written.

Well, like I said; Mail has no supported plugin API at all. There
might be
a way to get at Mail's window through the Accessibility API but I
don't
think you can modify it that way. That's not really my area
though, you
might want to ask that question on the list (if you can do this
through AX).
It would require the user to enable support for assistive devices
though.

Hi,
I am thinking to use Windows fuction provided by apple to get
handler for
window and attach new toolbar in it. I am thinking to register
event with
new toolbar and on action invoking applescript to do certain task.

I want to add button to Mac OS X's Mail application. Can anyone

good way to do this.
GPGMail does this and is open source:

But please know that this is not a supported operation. There is no
supported way to make a Mail plugin or otherwise modify Mail (with
the exception of the account assistant).
