Search for 'Screen snapshot example code posted' in the list
archives on Aug 13th. Mike Paquette posted a OpenGL-based screenshot
example. This is vastly faster and more reliable than using the
CGDisplay base pointer approach.

It's rude to obliterate the user's clipboard. Sometimes users
dangerously rely on the clipboard to preserve data for short
periods of time. If an obliterated my clipboard without my
selecting "cut" or "copy" then I'd probably never run that
application again.
