It's pretty easy to use the ObjC EOF of WO4.5 in Cocoa (am still
maintaining and upgrading two such applications). The obvious catch
is you have to have WO4.5, which aren't sold nor supported for a long
long time.
It should be possible to turn to free EOF (say, GDL2) instead. I am
planning to do exactly this in future with the two aforementioned
apps, but haven't got the time to begin yet, alas.
Also, there is a Cocoa EOF project type, which "Creates a two-tier
Cocoa Java application that uses Enterprise Objects as a data access
mechanism. It allows you to use Enterprise Objects within Interface
Builder so that you can build nib files that display data from an
application’s enterprise object instances". Since Java, it's not an
option for me, but if you are starting from scratch, and if you are
willing to cope with Java inconvenience and inflexibility, that might
be a good course for you :)
