how do I get notified when a key is pressed?

  • Subject: how do I get notified when a key is pressed?

I want to recieve some form of notification when, say, the right arrow is
pressed. I don't want the user to have to hold down Command or Control or
Option and then press the right arrow. If I could hook it up directly to an
action that would be nice.
Also how do I know if you user is just typing and not actually using a
keyboard shortcut? I want the user to start typing and have a textField
appear with the text in it. How?

Thanks, Alan
