appicationDidFinishLaunching?

How do I implement appicationDidFinishLaunching? I've tried just putting it
in my class but it never gets called. I have it in there as the function,
-(void)appicationDidFinishLaunching: (NSNotification)aNotification; I also
want to implement applicationWillTerminate but it also never gets called.

I'm assuming this is trivial so if you could give me some pointers or sample
code I'd greatly appreciate it.
Thanks, Alan
