If you need a good online start:

www.cocoadev.com
www.cocoabuilder.com

or Apple's dev site!

Christian,

I'm developing since 3 month with cocoa library and all I can tell
you is:

Yes you need some C, because isn't true Objective C doesn't need it.
Maybe is better to start with a good book, like Programming in
Objective C ... sorry I cannot remember the Author, but is a good
book with a lot of examples!
Start downloading some very simple codes and ask to the list ... a
lot of kind people here :)

No please... not Real Basic.... eheheh

Good Luck!

After researching through mnay forums and asking many people, I'm
convinced I need to learn Cocoa, why?

I'm a graphic designer who works on developing software (mac platform
only) for therapeutic uses (handicapped children), actually I just
develop the concept and layout and somebody else does the programming.
Currently I'm "simulating" things using Macromedia Director but I
really would like to make my own stuff without depending on somebody
else.

The problem is I HAVE NO PROGRAMING EXPERIENCE AT ALL, I don't know if
scripting in Lingo counts (Macromedia Director Script Language), but
let's assume not.

- It is possible to learn Cocoa without going through the painful way
of learning C first?
- Can anyone recommend me a good book( I prefer books, tutorials are
good for me, but I prefer to start from a Book) to start from the
scratch?
- Should I start with AppleScriptStudio and Applescript first?
- Should I learn something definetely easier like RealBasic?

I know it sounds akward..."this guy wants to learn how to fly a 767
without even gone inside a Cesna", but I really would appreciate any
guidance.

Thanks in advance.
