Not sure on that API; I don't see it in the Xcode or QTKit docs. Although, I have not yet applied the latest documentation updated (Dec 2005?).


You may have better luck asking this on the QuickTime developer list.

My guess though is that it's used to allow you to record a movie; possibly invoking a standard recording UI.
