No, it's not. The designated initializer is initWithEntity:insertIntoManagedObjectContext:.


awakeFromInsert and awakeFromFetch have special semantics -- see <http://developer.apple.com/documentation/Cocoa/Conceptual/ ModelObjects/Articles/moInitialization.html>
