Any starting point would be helpful!
I doubt there are any Objective-C libraries for reading GIS data.
You should begin by looking up information about the GIS file
format(s) you want to use, and then write a parser yourself. The
only Cocoa-specific part is representing the data in memory using
objects, but that should be the easiest part.
