Why not use Apple's built-in documentation viewer in Xcode (being
sure to keep both the application and documentation up to date)?
You can certainly use AppKiDo for perusing the frameworks it
supports, but the Xcode documentation also provides a documentation
wide search that you can use to search within all items, instead of
simply filtering the API based on what you type.
More clearly, Xcode's documentation viewer allows you to:
- search using API Search [by default] which filters the enabled APIs
as you type
- search using Full Text Search [by changing via search menu] across
all documentation, including guides, API references, etc. when Return
is hit
By example, a search using Full Text Search for "internet connection"
returned a list of results, the 4th entry being: "Using the Network
Connection API" in the document "System Configuration Programming
Guidelines"

But how would one find this information without the help of this
list?
Google?
+site:developer.apple.com&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8>
There are two steps:
1. From "Detecting Internet" to SystemConfiguration.framework.
Google does not help for this.
2. From SystemConfiguration.framework to its documentation.
As this documentation is on my disk, it is silly to use an external
source like Google. Also: I sometimes do not have access to the net.
A much more sensible solution would be to use Xcode -> Help ->
Documentation.
But this just does not work.
So: I still need some tool (like AppKiDo for the AppKit etc.) which
finds things in the local documentation in /Developer/ADC Reference
Library and also in /Developer/Examples.
Spotlight might be a solution, only I think it is hardcoded NOT to
find anything in /Developer.
Kind regards,
Gerriet.
