Broken permissions is mostly voodoo, don't you agree? How often does your custom installed applications fail because of problems with permissions?

Let's fix ARD so that it understands how to copy .app bundles to the / Applications folder. How hard could it be? Actually, I'm not so certain that it couldn't do that today. At least it knows how to copy files between computers.

But this is quickly getting completely off topic. What would be the appropriate list to talk about it? For things concerning the installer, probably the Xcode-Users list (it seems that all developer tools are on topic there?)? For general discussions about the right / wrong way to install things, I don't know if Apple have a good list. Perhaps Omni's Mac OS X Talk list.
