Yes, I have done both of these things. Also when I compare package

fact that they have different icons. So, I have not been able to figure
out why the icon does not get set when build from the make file. What
other information can I provide that would be helpful for solving this
problem?
I think I know what the problem is then, and if I'm right then the
problem actually lies in the Finder. In the Finder create a duplicate
of the icon-less application you built with the makefile. If the
duplicate gets the correct icon then it was all the Finder's fault,
and there's nothing you need to do. If the duplicate doesn't get the
correct icon then there's some more tricky problem.
