Hello message board!

I'm new to development to osx applications (I've been working on java based apps for quite some time though) and I'm a little overwhelmed.

My goal is to write some sort of screen capture utility that saves what's going on (on the screen) as a movie file.

This is mostly to record gaming action so I'm hoping to keep this pretty lightweight so it isn't such a drag on system resources.

I could really use a pointer as to where to start.
