Hello list,
I've been trying to find out the font used in Mail.app's outline
view (left mailbox pane). I've tried all the +NSFont methods for
creating the system fonts but none of them were the same. Any
hints on the font used are greatly appreciated.
It all depends.
At least with Tiger (I have 10.4.7; Mail.app version 2.1), the font
is configurable.
The font the the left-side list uses is the 'Mailbox font'. I
leave mine set at (which I think is the default) Lucida Grande 11.
Yup, this is what I was looking for. But there is a slight different
when I compare them pixel by pixel: my anti-aliasing is gray-scale
while Mail.app's seems to be in color (apparently Mail.app uses
subpixel anti-aliasing while my custom drawn text gray-scale; I'm
drawing the text using the NSAttributedString Additions methods). Is
anyone able to shed any light on the issue?
Regards,
David
