We've also had some ICEs trying to use an Intel Mac to compile PPC code with gcc 3.3.
Upgrading to 4.0 isn't an option, because we require 10.2.x compatibility for older projects.
Using a build server hosted on PPC and only building native- architecture on Intel works well, but that's an expensive workaround :)

I would double check the target settings in the xcode project, and possibly
deleting the target paths in /projectdir/build/.
Also, make sure that your default compiler is 4.x (sudo gcc_select 4.0)

If you post the build errors here, it would be a bit more helpful.

After installing XCode 2.4 I am having problems compiling a Universal Binary for one of my applications. I get the error: Internal Compiler error: Bus error.

I am compiling the application in a Powerbook (ppc machine).
Strangely I can compile for release purposes a ppc application but
not a Universal application.

Before this problem I moved the application's Xcode project to an
Intel machine (a MacBook Pro) and I was able to compile an Universal
binary in Xcode 2.3. But due to defects in my MacBook Pro I had to
return the machine and compile the project again in my old ppc.

What I wonder is if this is something related to having compiled the
project before in an Intel machine and then later in a ppc machine. I
tried cleaning the project, reviewing the sintax, etc. But nothing
helps. I don't know yet if the project will compile in an Intel
machine. I am still waiting for the replacement of my MacBook Pro.

Any help is appreciated.
