Thanks for your reply. I have done some more testing and I no longer
think the string is the culprit. Its more likely to be a bug in the
standard QC patch for RSS feeds. So I'm moving this discussion to
quartzcomposer-dev instead. Thanks anyway.

How about an example of your code that deal with the strings...
otherwise we would just be guessing.
Also I have to wonder why you are using command line tools to do this
when you likely could use Cocoa to programmatically access such files.
