So ... not the same thing. ;-)

Yeah, that sounds more like what I know. Anyway, whatever TIFF supports, TIFFRepresentation in NSImage will definitely always give you a bitmapped copy of the image, at least on OSs that have shipped so far, and I doubt that's likely to change anytime soon.
