If you're going to use XML, why not try to figure out IB's XML and
then write code to just interpret the XML that comes out of IB?
Honestly if I were going to develop a cross-platform app, that
would be one of the first things I tried.
The "XML nibs" generated by Interface Builder 2.5 are just an "XML
plist" representation of a keyed archive. They are not in (or
intended to be in) any human-readable, human-authorable format, and
are extremely closely tied to the in-memory representation of the
objects in the nib just as binary nibs are.
You will honestly have a much easier time defining and implementing
your own format than trying to figure out and remain compatible
with IB's.
You'd have an even easier time using Renaissance instead of
reinventing that wheel. :-)
