Hi, Frank,
I have a hard time coming up with two--there are plenty of good ones--
but I highly recommend the Memory Management Guide as one of the
first things that you should read. It is very, very relevant. Now,
in Mac OS X Leopard, we'll have garbage collection, making the MMG a
fair bit less relevant, but I'm sure that there will be some updated
information on how to integrate garbage collection with your program,
and an introduction for everyone to the way that /Cocoa/ garbage
collection will work.
So, for now, and even for in October when Leopard will hopefully be
released, my primary vote goes out to the Memory Management Guide.
Cheers,
Andrew

Hello I'm just starting out and need advice on which reference
documents to
read.
My background; I have fiddled with the following programming
languages:
Python, C, Hypertalk, Lingo, Pascal, Mathematica, Lisp.
I'm currently reading Hillegass' book but thought that I would get
acquainted with the reference docs from Apple. However there are
so many
that I get overwhelmed. Here are some that look interesting to me.
The Objective-C Programming Language
Xcode Quick Tour Guide
Introduction to Xcode 2 User Guide
Memory Management Programming Guide for Cocoa
Cocoa Application Tutorial Using Objective-C
Foundation Framework Reference
Application Kit Framework Reference
Core Data Programming Guide
Objective-C Runtime Reference
Debugging with GDB
Interface Builder
But starting out I can't read them all at once, so I would
appreciate if you
had only two to recommend to a newbie, which two would that be.
Frank
