Setting program to open default file at startup

Hello, I am just beginning and this may be blindingly easy:

I want to allow the user to set a default file that will open automatically when the program loads, similar to the method "applicationShouldOpenUntitledFile:", but with a predefined filename. Is their similar method that will accomplish this or any other way??
