Application type

This is probably a trivial question, but I'm still a
little confused, and so clarification would be
appreciated.

I would like to take advantage of Core Data. The
application is of a single window type, but allows for
the creating, saving and editing of X number of
documents, and so appears to be a document-based
application.

However, I wish to maintain the appearance of a single
window App into which data from a document is loaded,
rather than having lots of documents open, littering
the desktop as Word or Photoshop might.

It seems to me that this is indeed a "core data
document based application" in which the document has
no mydocument.nib as such, and everything is output
through the mainmenu.nib.

Is this true? I suspect I'm missing part of the
puzzle, but even after having sifted the developer
docs, I'm still uncertain as to the best approach.

Thanks.
