Licensing question (off-topic)

This is slightly off-topic, but not entirely.

If some of the "Developer/Example" code shipped by apple appears in a
modified form in one's own App, what is the position with regards the
license agreement?
Should it be removed, or does it need to remain? Should some form of
acknowledgment be made, or would Apple rather wash their hands of it once
it's been through the mincer?

Looking at the GLSL parser included in the GLSLEditorSimple code I wonder at
the sense in writing my own version of perfectly acceptable code, rather
than just making use of it, albeit in a modified form. It is even suggested
as the starting point for one's own App.

Perhaps this question should be directed at email@hidden, but I was
concerned about getting a response.

Thanks.
